TN-S Earthing. Common Coupling between Neutral to Ground for off grid inverters

The default setting of connecting N-G in battery mode is disable. You could add one screw on the yellow circuit to enable this function. This is applicable for the Conversol VM-III, 5kW at 48, Conversol V5 and 3kW new generation with Bluetooth. If access is not possible, the common coupling is made outside the inverter, preferable in the consumer unit.

It is what is called a PME “protected multiple earth”
It is the same as when power comes from overhead cables, the DNO doesn’t supply an earth so the “PME” system is used.
This is the earth connected to neutral, it is very normal nowadays.
If you don’t do this when the inverter is producing power it will read 110v on the neutral side and some electricians have a problem with this.
Personally I do the above and have never had a problem.
